It does suck, but it will all be worth it. You’ll laugh about this in 20 years, but probably not any sooner.

Oh man, just relax and breathe – it can wait till Monday.  We were supposed to have everything taken care of, we left to get married, plan was to close right after we got back from honeymoon.  Well we had all these issues with the mortgage that I was dealing with two days before the wedding (also pissed), but then supposedly everything was okay.  Little did I know that while we were gone on our honeymoon, the whole deal almost fell through completely!  Luckily my father is our lawyer, and he somehow managed to handle everything and told everyone not to bother us, so it wasn’t until we got home that we found out how close we had come to losing the mortgage mere days before our scheduled closing.

However, it all worked out, and I’m typing this at our dining room table in my beautiful house.  It’ll be okay.  Have a great wedding!

First of all– congrats newly wed!!!

I couldn’t agree more. Buying a house sucks and it also really sucks dealing with banks. We are in the process of negotiating with tthe bank and they want $5,000 more than it’s worth.

In the end this will all work out!!! Enjoy the first few days of marriage.
