i think 2 carats is quite a large stone! and with the halo it might look like a cocktail ring… that is what i would worry about.

plus, the bigger the moissanite, even if it is enhanced, the more likely it is to look green/yellow

That’s going to look huge.  Depending on your taste, that can be a good or bad thing.  That halo seems to run on the bigger side, so I’d personally keep it around 7mm max.  However, if you know you’d be happiest with 8mm, go for 8!

@calocal:  Your halo diameter is the perfect size for your finger. I love it!

Here’s some pics on a size 5 finger. There is my e-ring, which is a double halo with a 0,3 carat center stone. It has an overall 10.5mm diameter. Quite large but elegant I find! πŸ™‚ The other is my stand-in ring, which is a high quality cut cz in 9mm. Looks large on my finger I find so it’s fun to wear now and then πŸ˜‰

@calocal:  what setting is that? I LOVE the proportions of the big 8mm centre stone and smaller halo… mmm this with a gem may be my new fave plan!

@ccblink29:  So what size did you get?  I have the embrace but with a cushion in a 1.5.

To give you the idea of what a 8mm stone looks like here is an 8mm sapphire its BIG. My fingers are smaller though my ring is a 4.75 but we’re having it resized with sizing beads to a 5 with beads bring her down to a 4.5 currently.

As you can see an 8mm stone is substantial, a thick halo will make it even more so.

calocal:  I am looking at the same ring! I am a size 7 also, did the ring come big or small or was a size 7 perfect? Also how does the colour and band hold up?

Thanks πŸ™‚

snp0207:  I LOVE your ring! It is perfection! Seriously! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Has anyone ever questioned if it is a real diamond? I’ve heard contradicting statements about moissy rings. My friend is looking for somethinf exactly like yours but is worried ppl would be able to spot it isnt real diamond irl. Moissys are unheard of here ao ahe doeant want ppl to assume its not a gemstone just bcs it doesnt look like a diamond

I think a 1 – 1.5 ct maximum would look the classiest. That’s just my opinion though πŸ™‚ Perhaps you can go to a few shops and see if you can try something similar on with different sizes of centre stones to get an idea of what you might like?
