I don’t live in your area, but I have a friend who got a tux at Men’s Wharehouse for a great price.  You can also try department stores like Macy’s and if you have any near by, Off Fifth the Saks Fifth Outlet is a great place to find a designer tux at a discount.

I would sort of shudder to think what they might have at Macy’s, having seen their selection of men’s suits.  However you can buy a tux at Nordstrom, and at Neiman-Marcus, which we  don’t have on the west coast, but I’m sure you do in that area.  My Fiance is getting a suit for the wedding, and is actually spending far more than we would for a nice tux at Nordstrom.  Although I’m sure he will get a significant amount of wear out of the suit.  Your Fiance might as well, depending on your social circle – I have worked for several companies that have black tie holiday parties.

I second suzanno’s comments about  a nice selection at Nordstrom, and a bad selection at Macy’s, for men’s suits. We also bought my FI’s wedding suit at Nordstrom and spent a small fortune, but it is beautiful and well worth it.  I think it’s right for him to want to own what he wears on your wedding day- I cannot imagine wearing a "rented" gown.  Blech.  I hope you find what he’s after!

Our wedding is not cuper formal , so The Boy is buying a suit. Something he will be able to use again , and will fit him well. I understand him , he wants to feel good too! Or as I like to think of it  , he wants to look good for me.

It was stated before but , mens warehouse sels them , but also ask your local Tux Rental stores. They often sell their gently used tuxes for discount prices. We use to buy them for a theatre I worked with. Having it tailored to your groom , will make a huge difference as far as looks and comfort. Good luck!!

Men’s Warehouse has a really nice Calvin Klein 2 button suit for $399. Jos. A Banks also has nice tuxes for a reasonable price- depending onwhich jacket/pants you pick I think they come out to about $400 too.

If you are looking to spend more, Boyd’s has fancier ones- I think they start at $800 or $900 and just go way up from there.  Neiman’s you are looking at probably 1600-2k. We shopped a bunch for the tux to buy and ended up with the Men’s Warehouse Calvin Klein. It is classic and fit my fiance the best. Two of his friends had recently bought the same one and I have seen it on all three and it looks great! If you want something funkier you probably will have to go with something more expensive but for a classic look, I would recommend that one- looks great and easy on the wallet.

we bought ours at a Hugo Boss outlet, and my fiance loves it! Do they have designer outlets in your area? If so, perhaps it would be a good idea to make a day trip out of it? 🙂 We also saw some at a Calvin Klein outlet.
