Ask if the seller would be so kind as to take a picture of the dress with today’s newspaper so that you can see that this person really has the dress in the picture. Can’t fake that or steal it from another person’s website! I have had good experiences buying and selling dresses through here, POWD, and OnceWed, so I do say to go for it, but just make sure you protect yourself. Use escrow.com or Paypal for sure.

There are a lot of members who go on the classifieds more than they go on the boards. I would message them again but if you don’t feel comfortable doing business with them I wouldn’t.  Take any precautions you normally would do when you buy something online.

I haven’t bought a dress from WB but I’ve bought some stuff from the classifieds. I have had good experiences. I’ve also been able to pick things up when the bees were bees who lived near me. However, I should add that I’m usually wary of bees who don’t have ANY posts on the boards. Yeah, maybe I take scepticism to a whole other level 🙁

  1. Always use Paypal. Never write a check, use cash, or directly give out credit card info. Plus Paypal has a Buyer Protection Policy to protect you from getting scammed.
  2. If they don’t have any feedback, it’s probably a bad sign.
  3. Always ask for a real photo of the dress, not just a stock photo of the model.
  4. If you don’t feel confident about the sale, don’t do it. Trust your gut!
