@meg8604: Could you ask the seller if the dress is able to be taken out a few inches? Im not sure if she would know…if there were any way to get a seamstress to tell you that would be best.

Good luck!

That is a beautiful dress- I almost went with it.

I would be concerned about the waist because the fabric will buckle- see if it can be taken out.

which color are you looking for?

You need to know if any seam allowance remains to provide the fabric needed to let it out… Are you able to contact the seamstress who did the original alterations?  At very least, ask for a photo of the inside seam, bust to waist area and get a professional opinion.  The bust area is actually more important than the waist, b/c you can pull in waist but you can’t squish your ribcage any smaller.  Banking on losing weight isn’t usually a safe way to go.

I would have your measurements taken while wearing a corset. It might give you the play room you need. If you do go the corset route buy a good one so you will be more comfortable.

@meg8604: Ah the spun gold!  That’s what I would have gone with too.  There is one on preowned that would be bigger than your measurements.

Definitely check out the one that is bigger than your measurements… it’s easier to take in than to let out…
