Buying a Wedding Cake from a Distance

Hi, bees!

I am a military fiancee currently planning a wedding in Kansas City from Washington, DC. In June, I will be relocating to join my fiance in Hawaii before our wedding in October. Because of both time and money, I may not be able to make a trip to Kansas City until the week before the wedding. I’m freaking out a little because I’m not sure how I could possibly buy a wedding cake without going to a tasting.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any tips?
