    – buy airtight containers

    – seal it in ziplock bags and freeze it

Totally doable, but I would test with a small amount first to ensure your dog still likes it even after it’s been frozen. Freeze for larger amount, airtight containers would only be good for a 40lb bag of food.

DiamondnLovey:  dry food, no it will not spoil. I buy a big bag (25lbs) and I put it in a big plastic container to keep it fresh.

Canned food (wet food) – I buy a case of it and it lasts me a little over a month. As long as its not opened its fine. Daisy goes through 1 can every 3-4 days, once I open it, I store it in the fridge.

Her dry food and wetfood gets mixed. I buy food every 2 months for her.

I personally just buy mine a month at a time.  I worry that, even under the best of conditions, it would mold.  I have never thought of freezing it, but my freezer is too small to fit much of anything in there.

DiamondnLovey:  We buy Costco brand dog food, 2 at a time, at pour them into a plastic/sealed bin.  It lasts us about 3 months, and she eats every last kibble!  I would say it works just fine.

DiamondnLovey:  It might depend. I buy mine with no preservatives so I wouldn’t personally want that lying around too long. My dogs go through a 25lb bag a month. I do keep it in ant proof plastic containers, though.
