I would highly recommend a light blue sapphire instead of a topaz or aquamarine, they are much sturdier and less prone to scratching and chipping. I have an aquamarine ring that is about 3 years old, and I looked at it under a loupe the other day and it is scratched and chipped on nearly every facet.

Post on the colored gem forums over at pricescope.com, they can help out and they also have a huge list of recommended sellers!

Edit: Also check out thenaturalsapphirecompany.com

They have tons of sapphire. This one looks just like an aquamarine: http://www.thenaturalsapphirecompany.com/Sapphires/Unique/U4135/Oval/stoneid=U4135
