We will be transforming our guest room into the nursery. The guest room is currently fully furnished with a maple wood dresser, nightstand, and bed. Does is make sense to switch out the bed for a semi-mathing crib and add a rocker, or should I get rid of the entire set and replace it with all nursery furniture? If I kept the furnitute then when the child gets older they can use the furniture and I can put todler rails on the bed?
If I kept the furniture and just replaced the bed for a crib, is there anyway to turn a nightstand into a changing table?
First time mom here so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Ideally, my plan is to buy a crib and a dress that matches so I can keep the dresser and get rid of the crib. I will be using the dresser as changing table.
If we already had a dresser, I’d be buying a crib to match it, I’m sure.

@SFreeman2187- Thank you. My dresser is too high for a changing table so I just need to figure out if I can do something with the nightstand.

Wouldn’t the nightstand be too low? All nightstands that I know of are really low…almost knee high. I guess you will have to show us pictures of the furniture in the room!

Honestly I know SO many people who use their pack n play as a changing table and sometimes just change the baby on the crib with a little changing mat underneath. I wouldn’t buy a changing table IMO. I am using my dresses as a changing table but the pack n play looks useful too

@RoxanneV-I will have to take pictures when I get home.
@Turtledoves- I have seen the pack and play used with the changing table piece, but the pack and play won’t be something I keep open in the nursery.
