(Closed) Buying online makes me nervous.

There’s always the risk that what you buy won’t be what you hoped. But lots of online retailers have very good return policies. I try to stick to those. You can google any online retailer for reviews, and that helps to weed out the bad ones. If you’re still worried, try ordering one small thing and see how that turns out before making a bigger purchase.

I’ve been buying things online for forever, and I’ve only had a few bad experiences. Just be careful who you deal with, read their policies carefully, and don’t hand over money that you can’t afford to lose in case the worst happens.

I buy almost everything online, i LOVE it. It´s simple, fast, and a bit exciting waiting for it to arrive. No bugging sales-person trying to convince you to buy something you don´t like or need, no nasty neon light in the fitting room, just you, a cup of coffee and your computer 🙂

It´s important that you read their return policy before ordering, make sure you can return the items and that you do not have to pay the shipping costs. Then there is no need to be afraid. If you don´t like it, just return it and get your money back. All you´ve lost then is a bit of time, nothing worse. You should try 😉

I buy things online a lot.  The only time I’ve ever gotten screwed was I ordered some charms for the girls’ bouquets that never turned up.  I complained to the BBB, but still nothing.  Luckily they weren’t very expensive.

Tidebuy online…

Recently I found a dress I loved and as weddings are so expensive, thought I would save some money on the dress by buying from Tidebuy. The dress wasnt the be all and end all of the day so I didnt mind it was cheap. They looked like a good site and reviews were ok.

After waiting for a long time, it finally arrived, I went to the gym to try it on in the rooms with mirrors everywhere. On getting the dress out of the tiny bag it came in, I could see all the sequins (cheap silver sequins) were hanging off their threads, there were threads hanging off everywhere and some of the parts of the dress were not even sown all the way across! They had tacked the sequins on with inch long loose threads which would catch on everything. 

This wasnt even the worst thing! I paid the extra $20 to have the dress made to my size. I couldnt even get the dress over my hips. They had made it 4 inches too small for me!?!?!?! How was this even possible? 

Now any other company would let your send it back for a refund or replacement.. not this one!

I did everything they kept asking in their terms of refund. I sent loads of photos and even videos of the dress not fitting, then sent more when they asked for more. I showed the measurements of my hips and the measurement of the dress. Then they ignored me.

I opened a dispute in Paypal to help. They eventually offered me a fraction of the price- I paid $295.18 and they offered $120?!?!  Why should i have to loose money for their mistakes! It was awful. I have been fighting for weeks and emailing everyday. Im so upset, have cryed so much and been furious! 

They wont refund me and keep taking ages to reply. Paypal stopped the claim as they sided with the company? This is crazy to me! They wont protect their customers after all! I now am in a dispute with paypal asking why they didnt help, but they wont reply now. I have threatened to take this to the media, and I will after the awful way I have been dealt with. How many people can they and have they done this to? DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!

I have felt helpless and the whole experience has left me very depressed. My wedding was meant to be exciting! I still continue to fight this and will post everywhere I can to warn others from going through this upsetting experience. I now have 3 months to find another dress at a greater cost 🙁
