kjmartinez:  There’s no “rule” on how to do it. You should do whatever works best for you and your Fiance. If you want to shop for bands together, that’s what you should do. Lots of people shop for their bands together. My DH and I did. We also shopped for my ERing together. But it’s also OK to surprise him, if that’s what you guys want to do.

You can do whatever you want! We surprised each other, and then both ended up picking different rings later on down the road, lol.

It’s really up to you guys! We bought our wedding bands together. It was a bonding experience.

We picked out ours together.  He paid for mine and I will paying for his.  Good luck with the ring shopping!

We bought ours together. We were out at the shopping centre to pick up several things and ‘wedding rings’ was just an item on the list – so romantic haha! I knew I just wanted a plain white gold band and my husband isn’t that bothered about his ring even now so it was an easy trip.

Man, if I had surprised my Fiance with any of the ones I thought we’d both like… well we would both hate it a lot. Going to try on rings with him was really surprising because we went in a TOTALLY different direction that I thought we would. I was expecting something cool with mixed metals, but all of them were way too wide for his surprisingly dainty hands. We ended up going with a very traditional brushed yellow gold band. As for mine, he had no idea where to start with engagement rings, so wedding rings to fit with my unique enagement ring would have been equally beyond him. I absolutely suggest going together to try stuff on!
