I’m about to purchase a secondhand Sottero & Midgley gown online and I’m wondering if it will fit. It’s this one.
My measurements are 34c-28-36 and the dress is a UK 10 (US 6?). The seller says she was a 36D and it fit her just fine because of the corset.
So… is it safe to go ahead? Please reply soon, thanks! 🙂

Have you tried on the designer before. The reason I ask is I’m a size 6 and my Gurl was a size 12. My worry is the hips. Did she give you her sizing? As long as the dress hasn’t been altered too much, there should be @ least 2 inches you can take out.

Thanks for the quick response!
I have not tried on any Maggie dresses before. My street size is usually a 6 or 8.
The seller says the dress is the underarm measurement is 27″, waist is 33″ and top of legs/thighs 43″. When I asked for clarification whether underarm meant across the chest above the bust, she just said that she was a 36d when she wore it. We’re about the same height, so I’m not too worried about the length.

I bought Sottero and Midgley (Loretta) in a size 14. I wear a 12/14 street size and I found that most of the Sottero dresses I tried on were true to size, especially if they had a corset.

I went ahead and bought the dress. Turns out it wasn’t the size I had to worry about! After driving almost 2 hours to pick it up, we saw there were two ugly stains on the dress that the seller conveniently forgot to mention!
It’s such a shame because the dress is gorgeous! :(((
The seller refused to have it cleaned first as it would be too expensive… The worst part is she acts like it’s not her problem!
So be careful if you come across a listing for a used Sottero & Midgley gown!
