dt2413 :  I was determined to get a good dress without spending a lot of money and spent months researching different online sellers. jjhouse is one of the most reliable, I believe I’ve heard good think of cocomelody too. You should join the Facebook page “Chinese wedding dresses – success stories” there are a lot of people on there who have reviewed online dress websites and I havent seen anything bad about jjhouse on there. I ultimately went with Amazon but jjhouse was a close second. The main think about online dress shopping is doing research.

Idt2413 :

I see nothing wrong with it since I got my backup dress at Tradesy (never worn & cheap!).  Some bridal boutiques sell never worn or altered dresses at a deep discount so go for it but if I were you, I’d at least try on dresses as close to your chosen dress as possible so that you’ll know how it will look on you.  A dress might be pretty on a model but that doesn’t mean it will look good on you.  Also, I’d get measured by a seamstress.  One designer’s size 10 can be another’s 12 so knowing your measurements beforehand will be helpful.

Also, check out the replica threads:

I find the dressmakers mentioned (china) to be pretty reputable. I agree with pp in that research is a major component to this.

I bought mine on Etsy (seller ELDesignStudio) and it was absolutely stunning, I highly recommend!

I ordered my dress along with a few accessories from jjshouse. The order arrived in about 3 weeks, and the dress was very high quality for the price. Customer service also speak (well, read and write) English well. Really glad I took the risk and saved all that money!

dt2413 :  I bought my dress online from Last Minute Bride and I cannot recommend them enough. I tried on dresses at a couple stores, found the dress I wanted and then paid way less for it online.

dt2413 :  I got mine on unique-vintage, which has more modern dresses as well, though I got a swing dress.  Just make sure whever you go that you can return it for free, because if it doesn’t look as you expected or doesn’t fit, you’re going to spend a lot trying to get rid of it again.  I tried 3 from the same place, but my first pick was the winner.
