I bought a dress online at a deal to use for my reception dress it was a full length designer gown and I got it cheap so I was planning on cutting it down to knee length. Lets just say the fit did not work out too well and the dress is a bit tight. Thought I could sell it, but that is not working out too well either. My opinion is to not buy anything you cannot try on because if you fork out the money and it doesn’t work out can you afford to buy another dress in a bridal salon? Don’t plan on being able to sell it if it doesn’t work.

Although I don’t have any personal experience, I have seen many posts on here that ended up less than exemplary, and also, was just watching an episode of David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding, and he BEGGED his brides, PLEASE PLEASE do not buy your dress online.  It will most likely be ill-fitted, made of cheap fabrics, and definitely non-refundable even if it shows up at your door completely not what you wanted.  In my opinion, it would be much wiser to invest that money in something that is guaranteed to make you feel beautiful, actually fits you, and is backed by a legitimate store/designer.  I know it’s tempting to try these online companies, but keep in mind, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.  Good luck!

Dressale.com has awful reviews. They’re all over this site. I went with dressilyme.com (thanks to the recommendations from many bees), a similar site with similar prices

I had a great experience buying my dress online. I tried on styles and things so I already knew how each would look on me and what I liked and did not like. I definitely recommend doing this. While my dress is not an exact replica, I think it is really close and very well made. I don’t think the fabric is cheap feeling or cheap looking at all, but its not designer grade fabric either. I think my dress looks and feels better than most dresses I tried on at David’s Bridal. I didn’t have high expectations as I paid 1/10 of the price tag of the dress I wanted, however I still feel I got way more for my money. My dress did actually fit me like a glove, but they asked for all of my measurements and I did not order a generic size. I think my customer service was great too.

Nope, didn’t buy it from that site. If it trustful you could try. I’d like buy brand wedding dress, DB, AA… If brand dress is out of your budget, try http://www.dailyshop.com (friend recommended me). Didn’t buy from it, me either, my friend bought shirt out there. Things went smoothly

I bought a dress from the limited online when they were having their big bridal closeout, it seemed to go well, I ordered two dresses for under my 200$ price range.  The fabric quality is really good, and I have altered a few dresses from them my self before so I was not worried about having it come in to big etc. One of the dresses I love and wll probably use after some minor alterations to the top. The other I am not thrilled about, but I might shorten and dye purple to wear to a friends wedding this spring…

I was confident in buying from them becuase I know how dresses from the limited fit me already and I know they are a quality place. I would be apprehensive ordering a non-branded dress if I hadn’t’ seen it in person before just becuase you don’t know the quality of the fabric etc. If you order a certain brand or designer you can always try on ones similar to it first to make sure the cut and size are what you need.

@megs_lachelle:  Who designs your dream dress? I bought my dress from a seller on WeddingBee and had a really good experience and got an excellent price. Marinamarina is her screen name…

@megs_lachelle:  I bought my dress online from a shop on Etsy. It was a vintage style dress, not a replica so maybe that made the difference. But the quality is amazing and the price was half what I expected to pay. If you know what looks good on your body and are confident with what size you are then it is a great way to save money. If you aren;t able to critically assess whether the dress will flatter you than don’t do it without trying it on.

    Just my two cents.
