So I started prenatal vitamins this week. I’m using the Target brand on the advice of the bees and a friend. I had no side effects EXCEPT really gross fishy burps that started almost immediately and lasted about 2-3 hours. I looked around on the internet for a remedy and found a suggestion to freeze the DHA (fish oil) pills. I tried it and it works perfectly. I still burp a little more that normally but there is no fishy taste at all.
I just thought I would share in case any other bee is dealing with this gross side effect.
Good baby dust to all!

I was really worried about side effects after hearing from the bees and others but these were just fine. No side effects other than the fishy burps but now that’s resolved.

Good to know even for those who aren’t TTC–DH has been told to take fish oil and has gone with a more expensive brand recommended by his doctor because it’s supposed to not make you do fishy burps (and he hasn’t so far, thank god or he wouldn’t still be taking them–‘cuz men are wimps). But if we can buy something a little less expensive and get around that by freezing, we’ll give it a try!

@Frog E.: Men ARE wimps. Lol.
Good to know! I found that even with the cheapies, if I take it at night before bed regularly, the fishy burps eventually went away. I take a fish oil type prenatal and an additional fish oil supplement, sometimes a low dose up to three times per day. So it’s good not to have that anymore!

@SimplyChic11: Yuck! I immediately looked for a remedy – it was disgusting. Ha! Apparently, freezing them slows down how they are released but has no effect on their potency. I’m just happy to not have nausea or anything else I heard about.
