My Fiance and I are planning to get married next year sometime in 2014 (Either spring or Fall. We’re hoping to catch the tails of some off season discounts with out risking the out of towners traveling into the thick of Chicago winter)
My Fiance works in the Restaurant industry here and we have a lot of connections in terms of Chefs, Beer makers, Liquor distributors, Bartenders and so on and so forth. We would like to be in complete control over those options. We’re hoping to have one of our Chef friends (Owns a restaurant) Personally cater the event (Hopefully at a discount) and a friend of ours brew most of the beer, and purchase our own liquor cheaply through our connections.
My biggest challenge has been finding a venue that will allow outside catering, bar service etc. We need a place large enought to potentially accomodate 200 guests. We’re not real picky about the space, just that it’s in Chicago, so that it’s easy on relatives who are traveling in.
Anyone have a similiar experience with this? I know kitchen Chicago is pretty open with this kind of stuff, and has a full kitchen for us to use, but I think it’s just slightly too small for us.
