I’d say do week 1 again! I also tried C25k. I didn’t last very long (bad ankle and wrong shoes). I ended up doing week 1 twice. It was easier the second time around but because of my ankle, I had to stop.

I have known many people to do this program and congrats for starting!

Often times people think that they cant complete a day, until they try it. Stick with the prescribed schedule and if you cant complete a day, go ahead and repeat that day.

Even if the last run was really hard, but you completed it, I would try the next day on the schedule.

I’ve haven’t done the program, but I am a runner. I certainly have days that I feel great running and the next day, it will kill me! Unless there is anything wrong (injury, sickness, etc), just run through it and it will get easier. My college coach told me if you stop excercising for 3 days it is the equivalent of losing 2 weeks. Crazy!

It sounds like you might be getting sick, actually.  I haven’t done C25K but I do run some and I find that if I’m fighting something, mild running helps and intense running makes it worse.  I’d suggest re-doing week 1 just to keep it mild, since sore throat and being really exhausted sound like early cold symptoms, not the after-effects of a run.

Sometimes you just have bad runs.  I don’t think it matters if you’re on week 1 or week 250.  Bad runs happen.  Just keep going, stay positive, have fun!  You’ll be fine.

Good for you for doing it! I’m on week 8 right now and don’t worry it gets SO MUCH EASIER.  You’ll still have bad days though, it just happens. Keep moving forward. I would say go ahead and start week 2 tomorrow. If you want to go back and do week 1, do it today. Just do Week 1 day 1 today, you’ll be surprised how easy it is.  And take it easy, don’t run fast! Slow jogging and enjoy yourself. Listen to music.

way to go!!! I’m not familiar with the c25k but it sounds like an awesome program.  Just wanted to put my 2c in that with running you can never completely count on your body! When i was 1/2 marathon training, sometimes a 14km run would feel like nothing one day, and then a 5km run would knock my on my a$$ the next.  No rhyme or reason to it (well actually there probably is – food/sleep/mood, etc…but i never thought about that too much), you just have to push through as best you can and stop if you’re injured.

at least you kept going! try week 2 and see if you can manage it. if not, try week 1 again. no shame in repeating weeks. i repeated week 5 like, twice i think. that day 3 run had me scared. but i did it and you can too!

I ran a 5k last week and I wanted to die.  At least I wasn’t the last runner, but my legs were killing me.

@guitargirl:Oh yeah I just started (run 3 tonight) and I am FREAKING exhausted all the time, too! I think its something you will get used to though. I’d say redo the week or at least the 3rd run. You don’t wanna push yourself too hard. But don’t give up!!
