@MissTatas: I started Week 1 and thought the same thing! But once I got started I felt like Week 1 really was a challenging kick off! I hadn’t been in the running routine for awhile and was out of shape so it kicked my butt. Start with Week 1, and after the first workout, if you feel like it’s too simple for you, then switch to Week 2.

 Oh man, I loved this program. I did this about three years ago and just last month ran a marathon so yes, it really, really works! Laughing

 Follow the program to a T even if you think it’s too easy. the key is to not burn yourself out too early. And if it gets too hard later on, feel free to repeat days, although you should really say jsut go for it. I can still remember how it felt to run those two miles without stopping. It was amazing I felt so accomplished!

Good for you, kick some running butt!

@Megrit: I am so glad to see someone who loved it? Did you do it for weight loss, or just to get into running? I am trying to shed off about 15 lbs, and thought maybe it would help?

I don’t have advice for you, just dropped in to say my Fiance and I just started this last week!  (We’ll be starting Wk 2 this week.)  He used to run regularly but is out of habit, so he loved it, even if it wasn’t that challenging for him.  I HATE running but have heard so many good things about the program that I figured what the hell, it’s only 9 weeks.  It was definitely harder for me since I’m in worse shape than he is plus I just dislike running in general, but so many people love it that I’ll give it a shot.

I am in week 5.  I strongly recommend starting with week 1.  I am approaching the whole thing with “it doesn’t matter how long I take to get there, it just matters about the destination,” although I haven’t had to repeat anything yet, although this week is super tough, so we will see!

i finished this program back in july ๐Ÿ™‚ i did it mostly to get in better shape–i lost MAYBE 3 lbs, but again, i wasn’t trying to really lose weight.

i would NOT skip ahead–i would do the workout as planned to help you get used to the program and into a routine.

at this point, i don’t run for 30 minutes anymore. i run for about 20 minutes and then use the elliptical. running that long is too hard on my ankles (i severely screwed up my ankle 4 years ago). but i still feel like that’s a big accomplishment considering i couldnt run for more than 3-4 minutes at a time!
