That is an awesome looking cabin!  Sleeps 34!!!  I love that big dining table.

Would all your guests be required in that cabin chip in on the costs to make this idea work (aka sleep there)?  This was a discussion on another board.  Everyone confirmed that the couple should not require specific lodging in order to make their idea happen.  Not everyone wants to be under one roof (I personally think it’s fun, but I see their point).

So if some people didn’t want to stay under one roof, could you still do the idea?

I once stayed at a big house like this at a ski resort here in Utah.  We had 20 people.  To make dinners carefree and hassle free, we did Dream Dinners for our evening meals.

That is a pretty good $$ for a house of that size!

That is going to be so gorgeous! I think where ever you decide to have the ceremony it’s going to be incredible. 🙂

That’s exactly what we are doing!!! We were planning a big wedding and it was making us both miserable so I finally told my fiance that we are going back to my original plan (the only I came up with within 5 min of him asking me to marry him) and going to Gatlinburg!!

I invited my mom, my brother, my mom’s boyfriend, my best friend and her family, and one other friend and he isn’t inviting anyone (he’d much rather elope).

We are getting married at one of the chapels though: http://www.chapelatthepark.com/outdoor_weddings.html

I fell in love with the outdoor setting.

We’re renting a cabin and we’re all going back there to party it up and bbq after the ceremony.

Ah, I’m so glad to find someone doing a similar plan!

We’re hoping to do the exact same thing! My future fiance and I found the Roosevelt Lodge a few months ago and want to get married there with our families. We are travelling there in two weeks from Cincinnati to see if it will work for us. Was just wondering if you’d made a final decision on whether you were having yours there. I’ve been looking for other brides who have been married there, but have so far found none. Would be great to share ideas.
