Hi Everyone, I am having significant trouble figuring out what I should do about my wedding lights. I really want cafe/market ping pong string lights but I don’t want to pay a hefty price. Should I buy these lights and then hire people to set them up for me? (Who do I hire in San Diego?) Or should I have a rental agency do it? I would like to spend less than $1000 (preferably less than $500). Please please help me!! My wedding is very soon!!
Thank you so much,

I looked into renting market lights for my wedding, I was quoted $900 for weekend rental, set up, etc. Gulp. The wedding took place in my IL’s backyard, they decided to buy lights and have them permanently installed by an electrician. I am sure it cost more than 1K but now they have them forever and they look fab!

@mschroth: I’m wanting those too, and found one source that seemed cheaper than most, for the longer light strings: http://www.lightsforalloccasions.com/c-218-patio-bistro-lights.aspx

@mschroth: Omg, that is a LOT of money just for some strings of lights! You can buy globe lights at Target for pretty cheap, and have someone in your family help set them up. Then you can probably even resell them after the wedding and get back most of the money you spent on them originally.

@mschroth: Also, look on craigslist– I just found some listed for sale for somewhat cheaper than the retail price on my local craigslist. It seems like a lot of people sell wedding decor items on there!

I saw a link on pinterest where you can make your own! Just buy regular Christmas lights and some ping pong balls, pop a hold in the ping pong ball and stick the light inside. I haven’t seen it in person, but it seems like it would work.
