Does anyone know of reasonably priced baker and florist in southern Connecticut? I have all my vendors in place except for the cake and flowers—help!!! I’m hoping not to spend more than $1000 on flowers (we have a small wedding party and there will only be 10-12 tables) and $4-6 per slice on the cake.

Baker- I think we paid $4 a slice for fondant at Diane’s Sweet Treats http://www.dianessweettreats.com/
Diane is very nice to work with as well.

Our cake is the blue and white fondant one if you want an example (and we made the letter cake toppers and sent them to Diane)

Also try DiMare’s Pastry Shop in Stamford/Old Greenwich (they own two shops). They hold these huge cake tasting parties twice a year if you ever want to sample a ton of flavors. They only do buttercream cakes so if you’re into fondant (which is more expensive), then this place wouldn’t be it.
I’m also a huge fan of Stockbridges Cheesecakes. They won Best of CT for eight years in a row. Their cheesecakes are extremely smooth and light. If you get their flat sheetcakes, they run about $145 for 80-100 people. For flowers and designs, Lisa charged me her cost value for ordering them (we looked at the catalogues together). Brian and Lisa are super sweet to work with.
For flowers, I used Old Greenwich Flower Shop. Iryna and Anna are wonderful to work with (they are great in person and on the phone….a bit slower with email). I’m sure they can work with your budget.

Terri Krisavage Floral Design in Rocky Hill AMAZING!! She is sweeter than sweet 800-899-8733 and for cake IDK because my venue uses Cakes by Donna in Durham. But I have tasted her cakes at the Aqua Turf Bridal Show in Southington and its SUPPPEERR YUMO!!
hope this helps
