Today, Fiance and I finally made an appointment with a bakery to talk cake.
I hate to say this, but I’ve been feeling some wedding apathy in general, and I’m having some serious cake apathy.
I basically feel like as long as it is tasty, and doesn’t look like poo, then I’m good. Not really worried about the details too much right now.
I know I SHOULD care more- do I want it to be a plain iced cake, or do I want a hand piped lace design? Or fresh flowers? Or whatever?
But no. I just don’t care much about it at the moment.
Hopefully a cake tasting and the bakery’s portfolio will help spark my interest a bit more.

Honestly, if you don’t care even a little bit about the cake, then skip it. It doesn;t matter if it’s traditional or not. Serve a dessert that you DO care about, whatever that may be. If you and your FH prefer pies, cheesecake, cookies, whatever instead then serve that and ignore the cake/cupcake (they are the same thing) aspect entirely.

I agree, go to the bakery and see if you change your mind but if your heart isn’t in cake, don’t do it. Your heart should be in every thing you do on your special day 🙂

i don’t care about the cake either. if a big tiered cake isn’t important to you, consider a dessert bar. it’s a lot cheaper and you can diy at least some of it.
