Hi bees! So I previously asked about having a cake as a centrepiece with lots of lovely advice from you ladies and I was just wodering about nother option if we decide NOT to go ahead with that. I absolutely adore cake buffets but because of our timing I am wondering when is best to do it. We are having a buffet dinner as we are having an array of Caribbean food, some spicy some not and it would be difficult to decide one set meal for everyone as it is so varied. I now have two choices, as I am planning on having a 2 hour cocktail reception so I can have the photographer get lovely shots of our guests outside on the lovely terrace I am wondering if I could do the cak buffet then? Would it be odd to do a cake buffet before dinner? There would be a break inbetween the cake buffet and being seated inside etc to then have the dinner buffet. If we done it that way we would have tea/coffee and our wedding cake served to our guests while they were still seated after dinner. OR I could have a savoury buffet at the cocktail reception and have the cakes as the centrepieces to be served after dinner, or option 3 is to have a dinner buffet and then after have the cake buffet. I really want to do a variety of cakes as I think cake buffets look gorgeous when well presented and I personally would love all the different cake options. I am just wondering if having the two buffets one after the other will be too much once they have had dinner or if they will be happy to select their own cakes. Any opinions are great, thanks!
