So we had our cake tasting yesterday and it went good but some how I ended up agreeing (with the fiance) about a brown cake. I am unsure about this now. The cake lady said it would be brown with fall leaves, berries, and a plum colored ribbon at the base of each tier. Also on the top is going to be two sugar pumpkins. Now that I am actually taking time to think about it…I am unsure. Does anyone else have a brown wedding cake?! I can’t seem to find pictures

I’ve seen lots of brown wedding cakes and they’re gorgeous! And I love them, just because brown usually = chocolate!

I love this one – simple but decadent:

and this one because I still think it’s soft and romantic:

I’m doing a brown and ivory cake. I still haven’t made my final decision (well… long story) but here are some that I love:

Those are so pretty with the flowers! I guess I am unsure of it because I can’t find any pictures of which I am thinking of doing. I think the fall leaves in the red, orange and yellows will pop out great on the brown. I wanted to incoperate my purple in the cake but do you think it will be too much?

I just realized that I didn’t change my file names when I uploaded them, and now you all know that I have at least 37 cakes saved on my computer. It’s my secret shame, I’ve done the same thing with flowers… I’m so indecisive!
edit- also, I think a deep plum type of purple will look amazing! Lavender not so much, but what you described sounds so cool.

lol I had about 15 cakes saved to my computer. I came up with an awesome cake but it was way out of the budget. So we tried to come up with something different. I wanted non traditional. It’s so hard to picture the cake without some kind of picture. Whats your favorite one out of the 37?

Thanks! I tried to get my fiance to do 7-7-07 but he was like NOPE…so I told him we are getting married 10-10-10 and he was like yeah thats cool lol
OoH good find! Now I can get the idea a little better. I am not sure about the leaves being bigger than the pumpkins lol..looks a little silly. We are using a darker brown like this picture. I’ve been searching high and low for fall looking cakes to get an idea of what I want…
The second picture is the cake I wanted but 3 of them in different sizes weeble wobble stacked on top of each other- it was going to cost over 1200 for 60 people! thats nuts!

I found this through the knot. It’s a little similar to what you are describing:http://media.theknot.com/ImageStage/Objects/0003/0060167/large_image.jpg

@lilperiwinkle- that’s the problem, I can’t pick a favorite. It doesn’t help that our venue has their own baker and we get the cake for free if we use her, but her skills are not really up to scratch. I’m considering getting into the cake business myself, so basically I love all these really cool designs that I know I could do a great job with, but are way beyond my baker’s skill level. I’ve gone back and forth about just making the cake myself… So yeah, I have no idea what to do about the cake besides saving dozens of pictures and hoping for a moment of clarity…
