We had our cake consultation yesterday. When we first got there they couldn’t find the list of flavors we wanted to try but we were able to remember most of them (they didn’t have one or two but said we could come back and try them later in a few weeks). We sat down and tasted all the flavors we picked (loved that part). Then I described what I wanted the cake to look like and we got all that figured out. The total came out to a lot less than we thought and to use the gift certificates we had we had to spend a certain amount (which we didn’t know beforehand but we ended up getting a lot more than we thought we would). So for $260 (we had a $250 gift certificate we could use so it was originally around $510) we are getting 72 cupcakes, a six inch cake on top, a rental of a cupcake tree, 30 favors (which are going to be assorted mystery flavors) which are boxed cupcakes with our picture on the label, and a groom’s cake which we thought we couldn’t afford. It was a rocky start and not fun about the gift certificates but I think we got a pretty good deal and the cupcakes were really good. And if you’re interested in the flavors, we picked cookies and cream for the six inch cake and for the cupcakes we picked Reese’s peanut butter cup, chocolate chocolate chip, chocolate mint, and red velvet.
