That’s a great price.  We really lucked out and found a woman who runs a little cake business on the side out of her house.  I think we’re paying approx $2.50 or $3.00 per slice for a 4 tier buttercream cake.  Everything else we saw started at $5.00 per slice.

$350 for bridal cake (serves 125), $350 for grooms cake (serves 75). It was a STEAL if you ask me! I think we got a great deal.

I’m not sure how much cake costs.  Our cake was included in the catering package at the reception venue.  I think we kind of lucked out there.

that’s a great price! just make sure they won’t add on a bunch of charges for the decorations you want, and be sure to ask them about any additional fees (delivery, stand rental, etc.)

@Alice Wonderland: darn LA prices!  I’m going with a girl who does it out of her house in OC….all our samples tasted AMAZING!

Go look into ethnic bakeries.  They are usually cheaper and delicious!  We’re using Sunset Bakery in SF – a small Chinese bakery that makes DELICIOUS fresh fruit and whipped cream cakes.  We’re getting a 2 tier fresh strawberries and cream cake plus two 9″ extra cakes for 80 people at $220 (including a $40 deposit on the cake stand).  So that’s $180 bucks.

@Alice Wonderland: $10 a slice for L.A. seems high to me too – we are splurging at $7 a slice. Did you request a special flavor or design by chance?

Thats a great price. Ours is $600 (or a little over $7 per slice) for 85 servings of the below cake. Ours will be identical except it’s only 3 tiers instead of the 4 that are pictured. Ours is so expensive since we have to pay for each individual, hand-made edible leaf (more than 100). It’ll be worth it though!

@UpstateCait: I love your cake and I think 3 tier will be charming. Please post in recaps as it’s one of my favorite cake designs on the board! 🙂 Congrats
