I feel really good about my 1.50 a slice wedding cake!  It wasn’t the lowest price per slice (that was a lady who would do it for 75 cents a slice) and there were others that ran from 3-5 dollars a slice.  It took us a couple of days to eat the samples our baker made for us, and the last day was as good as the first bite, so I think we’re in good shape!

In Australia anywhere from $2-$10 a slice depending on area and bakery

I’m in North Carolina and most of the places I’ve found are about $4 a slice.

For Hawaii, I’ve been quoted in the $4-$6+ /slice range, depending on design difficulty.

My cake has come out to about $3, which is pretty good for Maine, thanks to our amazing baker.  We’re getting it covered in buttercream, at least a dozen sugar flowers, and fondant decorations, plus three different flavors of cakes with three different fillings.

Our is about $8/slice. Pricey to me, but average for the area. We are having a three tier, small cake with white fondant (homemade) with a black stencil design and two different flavors: white cake with raspberry filling and chocolate cake with whipped cream and strawberry filling.

I was quoted $2/slice for a 4-tier buttercream cake in central IL.  And it goes up from there.

Our cake with average out to $5.00 per slice. We are doing 3 different layers – red velvet with cream cheese filling, almond with amaretto cream filling, and white with rasperry filling. We’re also including macaroons in the decorations, so that brought the total up just a bit.

Our cake is 1.35 per slice with homemade buttercream icing. We’re not fondant fans, so it was an easy cost-cutter. Also, our baker does wedding cakes as a hobby. She’s a full time school teacher, but her cakes are AMAZING!

Our cake for 200 people cost around $350.

I saved money by having a 3-tier “pretty cake” and additional sheet cakes by the same baker.

Pricing I have gotten is 3.50 for buttercream and 5.00 for buttercream per person.

We’re doing a 3-tiered cake with a sheet cake back up to feed approximately 220 people – ended up around $2.30 per slice.

I wanted a pretty detailed design so mine is kind of pricey.

My cake will be 4 tiers- each is a different flavor but all of it is buttercream. The second from the bottom is a fake. It will be 80 servings (the top tier isn’t included in the numbers of servings and obviously the fake tier isn’t either)

The total is $415—so a little over $5 per serving. But that also includes decorating the fake tier.
