The mister and I went this weekend to look at invitations and other reception items at a local wedding shop. I found some adorable champagne flutes and a cake cutting set that could be customized to match our color scheme. I initially figured that I would just use what was available at the reception location – especially since the champagne flutes were $75 and the cake cutting set was $50.
But then I realized…I could just make my own! We headed over to Bed Bath & Beyond and picked up nice heave champagne flutes and a cake cutting set and then went to Michael’s to look at beads (found some high quality ones on sale) and thick silver wire.
For under $45 I created the whole look. I had this project completed in under and hour and they turned out pretty good (if I do say so myself). I think the mister didn’t think that I would be able to do it but then when he saw it I got a big "WOW" out of him – I think he’s figuring out just how crafty I am!
Have you been inspired to make a knock of something you’ve seen at a wedding store?
