Well we are serving 4 flavors! 

We will be cutting into a flavor called “Summertime” which is layers of lemon and orange cake with raspberry filling.

Other flavors are:

-Almond cake with apricot filling

-Marble cake with chocolate ganache filling

-White cake with bavarian creme filling

Bottom – White cake with 2 layers of lemon icing and 1 layer of raspberry

Middle – Chocolate cake with all raspberry icing

Top – White cake with 2 layers of raspberry icing and 1 layer of lemon

My mom wants to make my cake. She’s taking classes to learn how.

Here’s the flavors I told her we should try (she said she’ll make them all in small versions for us to taste-test):

– Double Lemon: Light lemon cake layers filled with a tangy lemon cream and fresh berries

– Orange Blossom: Light vanilla cake layers, brushed with syrup containing orange juice, filled with orange mousseline buttercream, flavored with fresh orange zest and orange flower water

– Key Lime: white coconut cake, soaked in coconut rum, with key lime & chantilly cream filling

– Strawberry Grand Marnier Cake: Yellow cake with fresh sliced strawberries and Grand Marnier buttercream, made with the famous French orange liqueur.

hazelnut cake w/hazelnut buttercream frosting

vanilla cake w/vanilla buttercream frosting

I got really frustrated that our venue was charging us $1200 for a plain vanilla tiered cake and decided this was the cheapest solution for our area. We’ll be having (22) cakes/pies total and they are 8″ cakes to serve 165 people.

Three tier cake. Top and bottom layers will be red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the middle layer will be sweet potato with butter cream frosting. SOooo yummy

Ours is simply marble (chocolate and vanilla) with butter cream icing.  It’s one of the only things Fiance insisted on – he thinks it’s a symbol of our how our differences are part of why we love each other and our acceptance of each other, because I like chocolate and he likes vanilla.  It was so adorable I couldn’t bear to argue! 

The cake is actually on his “to do” list too, so the design and everything are all up to him!
