What are your favourite cake flavours? Im leaning towards vanilla bean for the cake since it will be a naked with little icing and it’s usually a crowd pleaser. I’m going to pick different ones for the cupcakes but I’m not sure which ones. I’m leaning towards a lemon. So what’s your favourite?

Our cake will be a red velvet cake. For the cupcakes we are keeping it simple with chocolate, red velvet and vanilla cupcakes. We decided not to venture out on to many flavors in case some people didn’t like them and they don’t get eaten.

Vanilla bean for the naked cake sounds perfect. I baked over 300 cupcakes for an event recently (not a wedding though) and makes cakes often. The cupcakes were in a variety of flavours. In order of popularity (what went first and what people asked for most) seemed to be:
– Ultimate chocolate (4 types of chocolate- cake, ganache, double chocolate buttercream)
– Double Vanilla bean
– pumpkin spice latte (had pumpkin in the cake, the pumpkin spices, cream cheese frosting, and espresso)
– Red velvet
– lemon and raspberry
So if you can have 3 flavours I’d do vanilla bean naked cake, chocolate cupcakes, and one slightly different flavoured cupcake- either fruity or spiced, something like that

Vanilla definitely is a good choice since many people expect some kind of white cake at weddings. You should also do some kind of chocolate cake. People always like one or the other therefore you can’t do any wrong.

I love almost all cake flavors 😀 But I think we are talking about wedding cakes, hehe.
My wedding cake was to be 100% lemon, but my DH wanted chocolate -so we included a layer of chocolate- and then my mom insisted we were too wild so we added a vanilla layer, lol. There were also strawberry filling inside each layer, and the icing was made with Philedelphia (my favorite!). Overall, I loved our wedding cake..and would go team lemon always.

Vanilla bean sounds lovely! I <3 lemon anything so a lemon cupcake sounds delicious. We are doing an apricot torte cake with hazelnut buttercream.

Lemon and vanilla are classics and you just can’t go wrong with those in my opinion. Red velvet is also hugely popular and really pretty with the white frosting.

Ours was almond cake with lemon raspberry jam, vanilla piping. My husband and I really liked when we tasted it but my mom told us many don’t care for fruit flavors and we should stick to vanilla/chocolate. To our surprise she was wrong, and our guests loved it/requested to bring some home!

I love chocolate, but I know a lot of people prefer vanilla. My cake is going to be split: vanilla for the bottom tier, and chocolate for the top.

We’re doing almond cake.. (boring, but almond is my favorite flavor ever, lucky me!) almond flavored buttercream, but bavarian cream in between the layers. SO GOOD!
For our “gifts” to our guests, we have individual cupcakes that are different flavors that will be boxed for them to take home.
PS: You can’t not like vanilla bean, it’s classic!

My Wedding is baseball themed… so my baker has come up with some nice twists for our cupcakes… and we taste tested them and they are all to die for… and heads up… WE LOVE CARAMEL!!!
Honey roasted peanuts… with honey cake and peanut butter buttercream icing topped with honey roasted peanuts
Caramel Corn… with Caramel cake and caramel buttercream icing with a caramel drizzle topped with caramel corn
cherry coke… self explanatory… lol
Pink lemonade… with lemon raspberry cake topped with lemon buttercream icing topped with lemon zest
And finally… salted pretzel… Choc cake with caramel buttercream icing topped with caramel drizzle and salted pretzels…
