I’m not sure I know the difference between these. I know what fondant is, but not the difference between whipped cream and buttercream? I think of cool whip or something when I think of buttercream and that just grosses me out. Suggestions? It’s going to be a white cake, not sure what flavors yet…

I actually chose fondant for the look, rather than the taste. I love the smooth, sleek look. But usually there’s some sort of frosting under the fondant, so you can have both! A lot of people find the fondant a bit too thick and heavy to eat, but as long as there’s another layer of frosting underneath it should keep everyone happy.
