Here are the two we are doing for sure:
1) Peanut Butter Buttercream on top of perfectly chocolate cake. (I made the frosting recipe for his first bday we spent together)
2) Lemon Pudding Cake with my moms special Lemon filling. (As a little girl, my mom professionally did wedding cakes and my sister and I got to eat the pieces she would cut off. I decided when I was about 5 years old I would have a lemon wedding cake)
My mom is a professionally trained baker and I am really excited because we are doing an interesting interpretation of our cake by having them on tiered size plates.
In addition, we are doing a plated dessert at a venue (Creme Brulee), having a dessert bar (we will offer favor boxes for people to take home leftovers, since it will be things like chocolate cover strawberries and transfers versus ice creams).

Strawberry shortcake is definitely a top hit with me since I love strawberries. Carrot cake comes a close 2nd since that is part of my top 3 cakes I love the most.

I picked orange because I love that flavor but after I vote I had second thoughts. You already have a citrus so maybe the spice/chai combo would be interesting and break things up. Good luck deciding since I can’t!

the spice/chai combo sounds different and delicious, i would choose that one

I’m partial to orange creamsicle anything.

Ooh, they ALL sound delicious. I chose the strawberry shortcake, but it was a tough call! I don’t think you can go wrong. 🙂

Can I have them all?
Strawberry Shortcake is my vote but I seriously love them all!

I love carrot cake, and so does my fiance, so I voted for that.
But, really, your wedding is in the summer, so I’m thinking strawberry shortcake might be more appropriate…?
I don’t think you can go wrong, though, everything sounds delicious!

Carrot or Strawberry are my favourites! Lovely ideas.

Strawberry Shortcake! Omg!!
Quick question though… why on earth are you having a three tiered cake if you’re having a plated dessert AND a dessert bar? What’s going to happen to all that wedding cake?!

I don’t even care about the other layers because I would be eating the entire layer of PB and chocolate.
(But I voted for strawberry)

@rosegirl2325: Wow, I love the choices – never thought of having anything but the traditional fruit cake, fab idea 🙂

omg that spice cake sounds so devine.!!!!!!

I can’t decide without trying them. Hint, hint. 🙂 Except for the orange, they all sound delicious.

@rosegirl2325: Wow, what a phenomenal selection! All the flavors sound outstanding, along with what you’ve already chosen. I went with the orange creamsicle considering your wedding is in June, something a little citrus and sweet for the summertime. I love your story about the lemon wedding cake, too. We had one! 🙂
