In general, I’d say a simple buttercream cake like that one – classy without looking stuffy, as fondant sometimes can.

We did a textured buttercream because we didn’t want something over-the-top stiff and formal.

our cake was had a fudge frosting, it was a red velvet cake with chocolate covered strawberries on it, much unlike most wedding cakes that I’ve seen.

{Not a fan of the toppers, but I like the Tree branch design…Reminds me of an Orchard} Or maybe think of something related to the farm and plan the cake around that? 

I’ve seen brown cakes to mimic wood and all.
