I can’t see the pics 🙁

ETA – not sure if this helps, but our colors are dark purple and shades of green. I didn’t want the icing to color the guests’ mouths, so we went with a light green buttercream and a purple accent on top (our heart monogram). What about some purple/pink or navy drop flowers made from royal icing to top each cupcake? It’s pretty elegant and still gives a nice pop of color in the white icing, and isn’t too labor intensive for your friend as they can be made ahead of time and are really just a quick pipe…

I really like the look of the ribbon around the tree, it gives some nice color. The scallopped liners look nice, but I wouldn’t pay that much. What about making your own cupcake “sleeves” that can just be slipped on over the normal liner? Like the sleeve that goes over a coffee cup, or a belly band, but for the cupcake. That could be done with paper, scallopped scissors, and hot glue.

no problem! I pretty much cut out anything that’s cut out for our wedding, it saved me a ton! Templates are my best friend =)
