@Mrs_JB  HA!  Your pictures are so awesome.  You look so happy.  DH said I could do a “little” cake smash… and, I may or may not have taken it a little far.  Oops.  I can’t wait to see our pro pics!

@allyfally  your pictures are hysterical!! I love the ginormous pieces of cake.

We may or may not have stretched our arms out before cutting the cake. I was 100% expecting this.

MeandMyLouboutins:  Haha! You know what the worst part is? We went to clean ourselves up in the bathroom and by the time we came out we forgot to even get a slice to eat!

OMG, everyone here has such massive tree trunks up their butts. It’s just cake. And if you get it on your dress, SO WHAT! The nice pictures were already taken at the beginning of the evening before shit got ratchet. Awesome pics, OP… it looks like y’all had a good time!

kmark2688:  Cake smashing isn’t my cup of tea, and to each it’s own. However, the term ratchet is what I think of when I see people smashing cake into each other’s face along with something else I think of when I see white icing dripping from people’s mouths. Maybe I have too much of a dirty mind though, haha.

kmark2688:  After spending tons of money on your hair, make up, and dress, and even your nails which literally took all day to get ready…yes its a very big deal.

I will be so pissed if my fiance did this too me. I will not be spending hours getting ready just to get cake smashed in my face.

Bored6:  Whatever floats your boat. This thread is about someone ELSE sharing their cake smash photos (which didn’t look to be that big of a mess) and everyone jumped down her throat telling her and others how awful it is. Lighten up, for pete’s sake. Many women have already clarified that they don’t like the idea… Like this thread was somehow foreshadowing their own wedding? It’s silly.

kmark2688:  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I said to each it’s own, but it ain’t my cup of tea. If it brings the OP and others good memories though, who am I to tell them not to do it?

Tarheelgurl:  Personally, it’s not mine either. Even if it were just a “little” cake smash, I wouldn’t really want my husband to do that to me and vice versa. So I definitely know where you’re coming from. However, OP was sharing her experience and I thought some of the opinions were unwarranted on this particular thread. Some sounded a little condescending, that’s all. But then again, it IS weddingbee. We’re all entitled to sharing our own sentiments and thoughts, just as you said. 🙂

The cake smash was not going to happen ..just no! I still think our pictures turned out super cute/fun! Also, nobody tells you “how” to get the cake ..like do both people handle the knife or does the one person hold the knife while the the other holds the spatula or.. haha?

We had spoons to feed each other cake from. He had a regular sized spoon but I had a huge spoon. Of course he couldn’t fit all that cake in his mouth so a bit ended up on his face. That’s how I’ve always seen it done in Japan.

I don’t really like the cake smash, but if there is just a little icing around  your mouth and chin, that is better than when there is cake all over the dress, in their hair, etc.

At my small wedding at the in-laws house, we were not doing the cake smash. But people were demanding something, so me and hub put a dab of icing on the tip of each other’s noses, and they took a picture.
