I. Cannot. Wait. For. Cake. Tastings! I am looking forward to this more than any other aspect of wedding planning. My question – how many people typically go? My non-local Maid/Matron of Honor is going to be in town in 8 days(!) with her boyfriend. Would it be ridiculous to bring the two of them along with my fiance and me? Is it typically just a 2-person event? I don’t want to be greedy, but my Maid/Matron of Honor has fabulous taste and just as much of a sweet tooth as I do.

When we go for ours, we can have up to 4 people. Each place has their own rules though. They may or may not charge you extra for each person over their limit.

It depends. Some have 2 person limits and others don’t. Call the baker and ask before you decide to bring anyone else along. Generally though, it’s just the bride and groom that do it.

OMG those favours look amazing DeneanRae!
@redherring, I’d call and ask your bakery where you’ll be having your tasting. But I don’t see there would be a problem with it.

My BFF had her cake tasting yesterday and me, her, her sister and her fiance went!
They ony gave is a limited amount, so its not like each one of us had our own little plate of samples. So we all shared a small amount of samples, but it worked out fine!
Luckily, her Fiance doesnt have much of a sweet tooth! (more for us! muahahaha)

It is really up to the bakery. We had one place that only allowed 2 so we shared. The place we ended up choosing allowed whoever we wanted really and we had 4 people with us. I would recommend bringing your fiance and one other person to get the best perspective.

Id call and ask, especially if they CAN accommodate 4 people but normally only prepare tastings for 2 people. We went with my DH’s parents since mine were busy that day and there was no problem with having 4 people.

I’d call and ask them, like naangle said. We’ll probably go with just the two of us since, well, I don’t think his parents care a whole lot and my parents are 400 miles away. However, my mom will come up for caterer selection, no doubt!

I went with Mr. Sew, his aunt and my mom, a total of 4! I didn’t ask beforehand, and they had the samples pre-prepared. I think the more people you bring the more you have to share, lol.

Def call and check how many can go. We had some pretty big slices served for us, and there were 6 of us altogether (FH, Future Mother-In-Law, Future Father-In-Law, mom, sis, and I) since we wanted everyone’s input and it was tasty and fun.

call and ask first, but the more, the merrier, imo! remember the scene from the wedding planner where they all went cake tasting? that was the funniest scene ever. esp. boy george face when he ate the cake!
this is a really fun part of wedding planning! take some folks along…also don’t go when its peak cake tasting hour! we made this mistake once…and the place we went to treated us like cow herds! lol
