oh man, do NOT shortchange red velvet!!! That’s what I would be grabbing 🙂

I’ve seen polls before where you ask “which of these would you eat if you were my guest?” – you might try that, get a feel for what the general favorites are.

Oh, and also, if you’ve got 2x as many cupcakes as guests, you have to figure everyone will want to try 2 different kinds – so it makes sense (to me) to spread the flavors more evenly.

I would stick to just couple of flavors.  Red velvet is okay, not a lot of people really care for that kind.  Personally I would do just 2 or 3 kinds..

Okay, now I’m curious. I am a serious cake lover … what’s the name of your bakery? (Can you PM me if you don’t want to post it?)

i think 4 flavors is a good variety. i love red velvet and carrot cake!

i know a few people who haven’t had real red velvet, and they don’t like it because they think it’s just chocolate cake with food coloring (i can’t get fi’s mom to try it because she ‘won’t eat a cake whose whole point is food coloring’)…she’s so wrong though! it’s my favorite.

I would definitely go with all four flavours.  People love trying different things.  If I had the options above I’d have a hard time choosing which of the four I wanted!  We did a cake table at our wedding, and a lot of people told us they loved that they could try so many different kinds of cake, so choice is always a bonus.

    You’re making me hungry!  😀

@mandb122: We didn’t have enough of each cake for all 100 of our guests to try that flavour.  The only complaint I heard was, “I didn’t try any cakes because I was too full from dinner, and now I wish I had!”  I think a selection of the four with enough for every person to try two is perfect.
