I don’t really think of it as a cake topper, but I make some mini bunting, and that was perfect for us! There are some really cute cake toppers out there, but it wasn’t something we cared enough about to splurge on. Plus, I was obsessed with bunting and had so much fun making it for our cake! And I loved how it looked. πŸ™‚

Handmade by myself and a friend… Even with a tinfoil base they were to heavy to stay on top the cake, so they were in front of it until cutting time.

My other half and I couldn’t decide on what cake we wanted becasue we both had very different ideas… so we decided to be greedy and have two cakes πŸ˜€

One of our cakes is going to have mini bunting like Parasols… super cute πŸ˜€ and the other cake topper is a little superman and wonder woman figure πŸ˜€

Hubby is a fan of zombies, so I surprised him with these.

I had the hardest time finding the right topper. Everything just wasn’t quite right. Then I happened to find this topper in a cake supply shoppe on a dusty shelf enclosed in a case with other odds and ends. While I was imagining it cleaned up, I saw the Shakespeare quote on the bride’s gown, and knew it was perfect — we are both actors. I love it and am so glad I found it, on sale, too! It is kinda tall but the decorator found a way to secure it on the cake. I plan to display it in a China cabinet in our home.

I considered having the initial of our last name, but I decided to have white peonies, like the ones in my bouquet, as our cake topper instead.

@Cornflakegirl: I love your statue! It’s beautiful, and it sounds as if it was perfect for you and your DH!

I’m so envious of everyone’s adorable cake toppers!!!  We spoke with our florist about having fresh cut flowers on our cake, but it wasn’t added to the invoice/contract.  Sadly, we failed to notice the error so we had a cake without a “topper”…Boring!  Frown

@melisslp: Definitely not boring! Beautiful! I bet no one even noticed! I was supposed to have bling on my actual cake, but the designer forgot she had included this component in her drawing. So, I understand the disappointment, but I think we both still had gorgeous cakes! πŸ™‚
