Nothing. Our cake has some elaborate details on the cake itself and we don’t want to take away from it with a topper.

I wanted to do cute animal toppers, but it just didn’t look right with our cake. I’m thinking about having them on a cake at the rehearsal dinner.

I really love the polymer clay cake toppers I saw on Etsy – they are modeled after real-life pics of the bride and groom and they can include pets too which we would love to have our 2 dogs. We arent 100% but leaning towards it. Although it’s pricey at $100+

We have a cake topper, which we will probably change. 🙁 and flowers will be scattered around the cake in some fashion.

Fiance loves craft beer, and our reception is going to be at a vineyard, so we are planning on having the cake covered in with some grape vines and hop leaves. I’d like the top to have theM intertwined. I’m still not 100% sure we can pull it off, but I think it wi be nice and subtle so that most people think they are just decorative vines, but to us it will be more meaningful.

I just ordered a custom cake topper which was a little more than I wanted to spend but insanely cute from Etsy.

We’re also having purple gerbera daisy sugar flowers since I was unable to get them as real flowers for our wedding

I made glitter hearts in my wedding colors.  Easy, cheap and cute.   I got the idea from the Paper Pony.

We used Legos! My Darling Husband made it his personal mission to find the custom pieces (sword for him – he’s a fencer; violin for me)

It was the perfect touch of lighthearted playfulness for us.

I made one myself but then I found one that looked like us and matched our Midsummer Nights Dream theme so I had to get that one too lol.

Our cake has sugar flowers trailing up the sides, not sure if I’m going to add a few real flowers or use a topper. If I use a topper it will be a set of little wooden dolls. I made a couple as a trial, here is a picture of the faces…the eyes are a little crooked, but they turned out pretty cute.

I’m using roses as the “topper”. Not sure why, but I just don’t like the look of cake toppers. I’ve seen some really cute ones, but I just can’t picture having one on my cake. My Fiance wanted some, so maybe I can put some on his groom’s cake?
