I’m going to do one that is similar to yours but says “I love you to the moon and back”. My great grandma used to say it to my great grandpa and I remember her saying it to me as a child as well. She is no longer around but it has special meaning in my family so I thought a cake topper was a good way to incorporate it. I think it is a personal taste thing. I think the people cake toppers are dated but I have seen some funny ones lately. If I had not foud this cake topper I would probably just have fresh flowers on the top like the picture. Our caks is going to be similar as well!

I like that wood cake topper. We will probably just do flowers.

We are doing an extremely small cake (6″ bottom tier and 4″ top tier), just for photo op purposes (and cupcakes for guests). So I think we are skipping the topper.

the only cake toppers I like are the ones like the pic you posted! I have my eye on one that says “Best Day Ever!” Our cake also will have fresh flowers on top so I’m debating a cake topper still…

We have a 5 tier cake and I was planning on not having a topper, but then recently my baker said the cake is going to look naked without one so I ended up buying a gold glittery Mr & Mrs laser cut cake topper. I think it’s going to look really good! Maybe ask your baker what they think? Or just do whatever you like, I think flowers always look nice although they’re kind of generic.

I don’t think they’re necessary, it just depends on your personal style!

They aren’t necessary but if you can find one you like then go for it!

I’ve been looking for awhile now and can’t find one I really like so we’ll probably just be skipping it.

My mum made our cake and she added a ‘love’ it just finished the cake. Buy an inexpensive one and try it on the day, if it doesn’t work you haven’t lost anything.

Well, what is your taste?

We are doing something a bit country. Its funny and weird but it’s who we are so we are doing it.

I think they’re kind of dated, definltey not needed if you love a different look, go for it. We made our own cake toppers to bring our cats into the wedding 🙂

I like the wooden one! I also was looking at one that said “to the moon and back” because I say that to my Fiance often.

I also saw one that is a laser cut out with a little dog sitting beside the couple. I like that as our dog will not be able to be present at the wedding, but she is a big part of our lives.

It is your call though! If you like just flowers on top, go for it! I wouldn’t say toppers are necessary, just they can be a cute touch.

I felt the same way but ended up getting one. I got a gold Love cake topper. I am also having gikd  details put on the cake. I just wanted to not have the cake look so plain.

Good luck with your decision.

sweetness09:  I had a gold cutout one similar to the top, it just said “love”

I think they can be modern and romantic if done right. I don’t really like the “people” toppers, but that’s just me.
