I’m sorry I don’t have apicture, but we attended a wedding where they had individual cakes as centerpieces.  It was lovely.  My only comment would be that, if you do this, be sure to let everyone know when it is time to cut the individual cake(s).  There was a lot of confusion about this.  But it was really lovely.

I think it is a fabulous idea. If you go with this approach, I would opt for really pretty cakes with some height (I prefer the two tiered rounds). It does look a little pricey, but if you look at it from the POV of killing two birds with one stone (centerpiece expense and cake expense) it will probably come out reasonably.

I’m  hosting  a brunch wedding and I’m thinking about using doughnuts as centerpieces. Does anyone know where to find cheap cake stands?

Try Michael’s for the cake stands.

I was at a wedding this past weekend where the couple did this…I hadn’t ever seen it before (except on WB!) and I thought it was very cute ๐Ÿ™‚ It was a bit odd though because some tables had cakes and others had centerpieces and I wasn’t sure what to do or when to cut them….could have been explained better but it was super cute!
