Ours was about $5 per serving.  Most places we went to were around that – I think $4 was the lowest for traditional wedding cake.

To tell the truth I’m a bit bummed that I didn’t just do sheet cake from Costco.  Would have cost less than $2 per serving for both the cake and to have the venue serve it.

My husband really loved the cake, though, and picked it out, so I guess it was worth it.

In TX the cost of cakes ranged anywhere from $3-$5 per slice but if I could go back I would have gotten my cake from inside a local grocery store than can do the tiers believe it or not (not talking about Wal-Mart–the Wal-Marts down here cannot do a good job on cakes).

$2 a slice, for 250 people. But the baker was a family friend 🙂

Our bakery offers a standard 3-tier for like $350. My FI’s cake and mine combined were less than $500. I was pretty excited about that! LOL!

This was my cake, (the name cloned out for privacy reasons), we paid in $110 in total but we bought the styrofoam tiers ourselves ($20) and the lace trim ($10). So in total about $150ish maybe?

The only real cake tier is the 8 inch tier (which we cut into and was SUPER yummy & fed about 28 people, bought slabs of cake for the rest of guests), the 6″, 10″, and 12″ are all dummy.

Most places around here are 3.50 a slice, so like 400 something for an average one. (my amazing math skills)

I don’t have a picture but ours was free! Our baker backed out last minute and we asked an old family friend who did my parent’s cake. They gave it to us as a wedding gift.

Our cake was a freaking fortune. I think we paid about $2k and it was to serve 150 people. They just know how to get you on Long Island. It was beautiful and delicious, though.
