Do you have irregular cycles?  Mine does that too sometimes because I’ve confused the software, and it can’t figure out which day I might ovulate.  If you just started temping, FF is somewhat retrospective, in that it will tell you DID ovulate after it records the post O increase, rather than that you’re going to.

@baletrina:  how long are your cycles? I am usually give a 10 day window of when I may ovulate. The green days are just possibilities. It will narrow your possibilities the more cycles you input 🙂

there’s a pretty good app if you want to track when you ovulate called menstral calander.. you input your days you have your period and the more you track the more accurate it gets.. it also lets you track things like ovulation tests, symptoms, temperature.. i’d recommend even the free version

the easy way to do it if you have a 28 day cycle is to count 14 days after the first day you menstrate.. that’s the day you ovulate.. you want to have lots of sex the two days before, day of, and two days after… if you have a longer cycle say 30 days you need to count 16 days from the start of period.. hope that makes sense

@baletrina:  That’s exacty why then.  I had cycles everywhere from 36-111 days long.  So it estimates that your fertile window is 14 days before you “expected” period.  But when it doesn’t know what expected is, it turns everything that’s 14 days before EVERY cycle length green.

@Soon2BeMrs7913:  not necessarily, I had a 27 day cycle last month and ovulated on day 17.  In a perfect world, this is true, but it is so different for everyone and can be different each month even. It will probably be *close* to day 14 if you have 28 day cycles, but if you are trying to get pregnant, you probably want to track other fertility signs to help plan when to BD.

I recommend reading Taking Charge Of Your Fertility, it is such a great book! 🙂
