@MARIE901:  I agree with your Darling Husband that you should see your doc.  For us to suggest things now could only add to your panic.  A friend of mine had pains in her calves, but she described them as “like cramps, but not”.  She got perscribed Magnesium.  Hope they get back to you soon!

Do you think you might have had a muscle spasm or charlie horse? I get these sometimes are night and then my leg is so tight it feels exactly like you are describing. Try doing toe A,B,C’s with your ankle on the leg that it hurting. It might help to loosen it up and stretch.

1.  See your doctor.

2. Increase your water intake.  If it’s a muscle spasm or charlie horse you may be dehydrated and not know it.

This sounds exactly like charlie horses I would get.  I would get a muscle spasm at night while sleeping and then it would feel bruised for a few days afterwards.

Definately check with your doctor. Always better to be safe than sorry. I have a similar pain to that in my right calf on occasion, and in particular around my right ankle. I was informed it just just from the swelling and changes my body is going through and dealing with though.

I’ve been having really bad Charley Horse pain in both my left and right calfs for the past week or so and the pain has been lasting a few days each time after I get them. I hear that they are fairly common during pregnancy (especially during the second trimester, which I’m in right now). Perhaps this is what you’re experiencing?

Pregnancy is filled with aches and pains, so it is probably nothing.  If your doctor does not seem worried when you hear back, I would try increasing fluids and also increasing potassium (eat a banana!).  Both of those things should help.  Also seem if you can get your husband to rub your legs to stimulate blood flow ๐Ÿ™‚

@MARIE901:  Glad to hear that your doc is having oyu come in- better to get checked out and not have to worry about all the “what if it’s THIS?!” scenarios.  Let us know what the doctor thinks!

I agree with checking with your Dr. I also had a bad cramp, the other night. The next few days my leg felt sore…kind of like what you are describing.
