Has anyone gotten married at the Wedding Pavilion in Calgary? I’ve read a mix of good and bad reviews about the place but I’d love to hear from someone myself.
Is it fairly expensive compared to other places in Calgary?
How is the food – I see you can customize your menu? My sister and I and several of our guests have dietary restrictions so this will be important.
They pretty much include everything – how is their photographer?
Thanks for any input!

I’m devastated having to write this, but steer clear of the Wedding Pavillion if possible. I was one of their biggest supporters up until the day after. For the amount of money we spent, it makes me sick at the other options we could of looked in to. Beware the of their many, MANY hidden costs that don’t show up until you receive your final bill. Yes, the photographer’s included, but she is only there for a very short amount of time, and anything additional is $200/hr. All you receive is a coffee table book and a couple give-away photos, prices start at $675 for 25 edited images. Chair covers are not included, although you are not told this until they do a sample table set up for you. We were never given the option of a basic chair cover, she showed us the “upgraded” ones, asked if we liked it, then we were smacked with a $1200 bill for it. The wine service-don’t even get me started. They shut down the bar for wine service, so your only choice is wine, and 6 staff walk around pouring glasses right up to the brim-not the type of etiquette I’m used to. Easy to see after we were slapped with another $2000 for wine…somehow they managed to pour over 30 bottles of wine in an hour (but we were paying for it-so of course they did!). This wouldn’t of been a big deal had the coordinator not left early, leaving us in the hands of a bunch of children for staff. My bridesmaids were clearing dirty supper dishes off the table at ELEVEN pm so my guests didn’t have to talk over them. staff were in the back snacking and visiting when my girls dropped the dirty plates off. We were informed they were shortstaffed that night (and yet the wine service was eager as hell!)…when you’re shelling out $20,000+, you kind of hope they have back up plans for that kind of stuff. A disaster….if I wasn’t surrounded my so many amazing friends and family my night would of been a nightmare

My sister just got married there. She only did the ceremony as the cost for everything else was really high…. I love the look for it and the photos turned out amazing, but she used a different photographer that she hired. Troy Young Photography. But they are very pushy on time and doing photos there. If you do use it, I would suggest only the ceremony and a few photos, I am getting married next April, but I wont be going there after what my sister paid for and the little she got to use of it. Beautiful place, just bad customer service.

You can alter anything you like, example, the bar service is typically shut down and wine is served during dinner, but if you tell them during your planning as we did, that we’d like it to stay open during dinner they will keep it open ! It’s all in your personal preference ! they give you paperwork with all the costs and any extras (including chair covers) so if you read what they give you, you will be well informed 🙂
