Fiance and I have totally different views on our honeymoon. I want tropical (Hawaii!!!) he wants mountains and woods. Boo. I love mountains and woods but not for our honeymoon. We dont talk much about it because we both know we want different places.
Today he mentioned he wouldnt mind Florida or Califonia. I love Cali, I’ve been there once.
We are not looking to spend huge amounts of money for our honeymoon since we are also in the process of buying a home and of course planning a wedding.
Anyone have any suggestions, idea, or tips for Cali vs. Florida? We would be going the first week in November. Thanks Bees!!

I’ve been to Florida a few times.. but I would recommend California. Lots and lots and lots to do here, and the weather is still good in November. 🙂

I live in Florida, and it is great here. Awesome place to be.

I picked California. Beaches and great hiking.

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
I’ve been both places once – in CA I was in San Deigo and in FL I was in Miami. I personally preffered Florida and would love to go back. Though CA is so diverse from North to South, some day I wouldn’t mind seeing more of CA, but if my goal was “tropical” I’d head to Florida.

soontobehisbride: Cali is beautiful but Florida is way cheaper and November is the low season for tourists even though the weather is still great. We got married on November 2 last year and it was mid-70s even though we were in the northern part of the state. The Keys are a great compromise for both the tropical beach and active lifestyle because you can loll around on the beach while your husband kayaks or snorkels.

California, for sure. You want beaches and he wants mountains/woods, which are both prevalent in California. You can drive up the coast and get a little bit of everything.

California has so many things to offer! Though, I must say the ocean would be way to cold to swim in November, IMO – water temp probably in the low 60’s/high 50’s. Driving down the coast along highway 1 is very romantic, it’s got impressive ocean views plus hicking plus cute little towns plus wine tasting – so something for everyone.
