That’s a gross and idiotic thing to say. A person is far more than their reproductive capabilities. I guess all children and the elderly aren’t real people then?? And if she was specifically trying to dehumanize trans people that makes it worse if anything.

I wish people would stop being so obsessed with other people’s genitalia and internal organs. It’s weird.

That’s such an absurd statement I…can’t…even. It’s like the people who think you aren’t a woman if you don’t want to have children. This is absolutely not a viewpoint I’d call mainstream (or normal).

Personally, i consider anyone who identifies as female to be exactly that – a woman. I don’t GAF what reproductive organs anyone has or may not have.

I imagine they were talking about trans people but regardless it is a ludicrous thing to say and you may rest assured the rest of us aren’t thinking it…. xxx

Your coworker is an it.  Fuck him.  Please throat punch him next time you see it.  Ok, don’t really do that but he deserves it.

This person is not worth any of your time. Time to say goodbye.

Also, trans people can rightfully have functioning reproductive organs…why was this even a conversation??

Horrible; human beings are not objects, no person should ever be referred to as “it,” that term is strictly for inanimate objects.  It even bugs me when people refer to an unborn child as an “it.”

For everyone: you can’t take seriously the opinion of every idiot you talk to, or you will drive yourself crazy.

Opinions are like assholes, everybody’s got one.

You are a woman and this person is an ass wipe. Pity this idiot–anyone with such a narrow view of the world can’t have a very good life.

As someone with PCOS, my ovaries “work,” but not well, especially without medication. I guess I’d be an it too? There are so many men and woman who struggle with infertility, and that’s something most of their acquantiances likely wouldn’t be told. I can’t imagine how awful this person is to say something so callous.

lauralaura123 :  Was it a man who made that comment? Sounds like something a man would say. I find men make lots of comments and have lots of opinions on womens bodies and working parts and what we should be able to do or not do. They get no say and it is about time we let them know that! Unless that is, they want us to start taking away their right to Viagra…. and start forcing them to take birth control…lolz

Oh and I read a FANTASTIC article the other day and they said if someone makes a comment that is clearly rude and offensive you just say, Actually i don’t understand what you are saying, can you explain? That kind of reaponse doesn’t allow them to just get away with comments like that. I will post a new post witha link to that article.
