Hi Bees, Just wondered who else had experienced this really. When we rang around the key people to tell them we had got engaged, his best friend’s mum who is like an adoptee mum to him went “oh so that’s ***”, ” he quickly corrected the situation and I have managed to see the ‘funny’ side of it, sort of. I mean what else can you do. Guess it was the surprise, as she has met me, spoken to me and he speaks to her and her husband about the relationship, life and the universe etc. Also he had been split from his ex for ages. She made sure to check the name before sending her congratulations which was good. Has anyone else has this?

My Future Sister-In-Law and my Fniece have bith accidentally called me by my FIs exs name… Future Sister-In-Law came back in the room and apologised as soon as sshe realised and the niece was old enough to know it was a mistake but not brilliant at fixing it (exs name was Ellie) and she tried to cover by saying oopps! I was thinking of ellie the elephant. .. I thought it was hilarious! either way it was a genuine mistake so I was fine with it. If it had been done on purpose or maliciously I’d have been quite upset

The only thing similar I can think about is that my ex’s fiance was called my name during a toast and as a result everybody associated with them hates me? I wasn’t even there to be blamed for somebody else’s mistake. Oh well, these things happen, I wouldn’t think too much about it.
