Hi bees…so my mom is paying for my bridal shower, but she’s super foreign and can’t really host it. As such, I’m kind of doing the planning in the background, selecting games and such. I’ve played bridal bingo at several showers, but have never paid attention to what others use to call off the items on the bingo cards. Any ideas for what’s used? Do I just fold up a bunch of pieces of paper and have my Maid/Matron of Honor pull them out of a jar to call out? Any ideas are appreciated. Thank you!

Oh thank you! I guess I should have clarified…the bridal shower bingo typically has registry items that the guests write in on the bingo cards (i.e. stand mixer, mixing bowls, wine glasses, etc.) and then the caller calls off the items. So I’d need something to have the names of the registry items on there. Hence why I didn’t know if people typically write down some items and call them off as they are drawn.

The way I’ve played is the guests mark their squares as the bride opens gifts. As in, the gift that is opened determines which square the guest marks on their card. I’ve never seen anyone “call out” items like randomly from a jar or anything.

When I played bridal bingo, items were marked off as they were opened as opposed to having someone call out the item like traditional bingo.

Wait, there’s a game where guests get a card with a list of possible gifts and they mark them off as the bride opens the gifts? That sounds kinda cringeworthy. It’s awkward enough to sit there for an hour and watch someone else open gift after gift after gift. Please don’t make your guests have some kind of running tally of them!
