Hello ladies –
I was just wondering, when deciding on the guest list – do you think more people will come over 4th of July weekend or less people. What is the expected percent of people that will actually come? This is one of my main problems right now and any input would be appreciated!

Most of our guest list will come, even though they own boats or cabins. But our family wedding are notorious for being crazy!!! and no oneone wants to miss it.

Most of ours are coming. We sent the save the dates out and are sending the invites out early so people know in advance.

Pretty much everyone I’ve heard from is coming except the international families. I’m actually hoping the holiday keeps the list slightly smaller (it’s out of control!) but so far I haven’t seen any signs that it will.

Thats what I’m hoping too – hopefully it keeps it smaller!

When we meet with vendors they keep telling us to expect we’ll lose a lot of people because it’s Alaska and a holiday weekend and people will be fishing… which is funny since looking over our guest list, I don’t see very many who fish at all! I guess we’re bad Alaskans…

DONT WORRY! I got married last 4th of July weekend. I worried about the same thing. Ended up being a pretty normal show as far as how many showed vs. how many couldnt make it. Everyone that RSVP that they would show did. We had about 130 out of the 170 or so we invited. Most that didnt were WAY out of State Family etc…
A lot of people said they LOVED it because it WAS 4th of July weekend and usually only weddings and funerals bring THAT much family together! HA!
We did kind of a patriotic wedding as well. Like classic vintage patriotic. NOT BRIGHT BOLD RED WHITE AND BLUE. Haha! Just so people could have there 4th of July spirit too seeing as we “made” them come to our wedding.
I never heard even after the wedding about a single person complaining or irritated that it was 4th of July weekend and they had to go to a wedding.

I having my wedding NEXT 4th of July weekend in 2012 and was hoping because it was a holiday most/all of the family could come, celebrate the 4th on Wednesday make it a long celebration into the weekend and wedding and just be a week long party! 🙂 That was the plan so I really hope it works out…seemed like a great way to get the out of staters here…2 birds with one stone if you will 🙂

…also…seeing as we had a “4th of July” weekend wedding. To get people excited and know they YES we know its that weekend and HECK YA we will have fun I am not going to make you GIVE up your 4th of July for my wedding we put on the top of our Wedding invites:
“Flags are Waving and our pride is high, please join us in the 3rd of July”
It was like cute americana invite, had lots of compliments and what not….just an idea.

@tiffross5:Everyone’s family is different. We’re really worried about how many people will come. We’ll know in June, I guess.
